Intestinal Blockage with Regurgitation and Aspiration - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This medical exhibit features two large sagittal (side cut-away) view of the head, neck and upper torso show the upper digestive tract and respiratory system in greater detail. The anterior view shows the massive amounts of stool in the colon causing a back-up of intestinal contents with widespread dilation of the small intestines and fluid in the stomach. Arrows are added to represent the passage of contents up through the esophagus due to regurgitation and then down through the trachea and bronchi into the lungs to represent the aspiration. The sagittal view illustrates this aspiration in greater detail showing the regurgitated contents flowing up the esophagus into the mouth and throat and entering the airway to pass down into the trachea.
